PCRM Food for Life Cooking & Nutrition Classes in Anchorage for:
• Cancer Prevention & Survival
• Diabetes Prevention & Treatment
Designed by Physicians, Nutrition Experts and Registered Dietitians
Most Americans are not aware of the relationship between nutrition and many of the most common and debilitating diseases in the United States.
Research shows that between 1/3 and 2/3 of all cancers, Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and obesity are linked to the unhealthy Standard American Diet (SAD). Our diet is killing us!
My innovative, fun and inspiring cooking and nutrition classes teach you how the right food choices can help prevent cancer and increase the chances of survival and reverse Type 2 diabetes, heart disease and obesity.
If you have Type 1 diabetes, this same healthy diet can help manage blood sugar by reducing insulin resistance and prevent or reduce many of the complications of diabetes: kidney disease, heart disease, blindness and amputations.
These classes empower individuals and families to take action to improve their health and vitality.
The Food for Life Cooking and Nutrition Classes are offered as a 7-week series, meeting weekly for 7 weeks. Each class is 2 ½ hours and consists of a cooking demonstration and nutritional information base on scientific research, with an opportunity for participants to then sample the delicious food, and take the recipes home with them.
I intentionally keep the price for both 7-week classes at low so people can easily afford these life-changing classes. The price for each class series is $175, making it $25 per class.
The Food for Life Cooking & Nutrition classes started in 2001 and are sponsored by PCRM (Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine), which is a non-profit organization located in Washington D.C. established in 1985 by Dr. Neal Barnard.
